"Frankly it's pathetic how much we've all missed each other. A new chapter in the lives of the Inbetweeners feels like the very least we can do to thank the fans for their phenomenal response to the first movie."

The film will shoot later this year with the central quartet Will (Simon Bird), Jay (James Buckley), Neil (Blake Harrison) and Simon (Joe Thomas) reuniting for a new big-screen adventure.

Film4 and Channel 4 will co-finance and produce the movie through Bwark Productions.

Mesmerizing Trailer For Adventure Comedy "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"

20th Century Fox has released the first official trailer for Ben Stiller‘s next directorial film, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty."  It is a remake of the 1947 film with the same name. Featuring Ben Stiller as Walter Mitty, Kristen Wiig as Mitty's love interest, Adam Scott as Mitty's boss, Patton Oswalt as an eHarmony customer service, representative, Sean Penn as Sean O'Connell, an Arctic explorer and Shirley MacLaine. This trailer for Walter Mitty, however, is brilliant and refreshing, as it attempts to capture the mood and tone of the film with a simple (and haunting) Of Monsters and Men song and minimal dialogue.  It really looks like Stiller has crafted something special here.

10 Best Fish-Out-Of-The-Water Father Comedy Films Of All Time

In the fiction world, a fish out of water theme is a story pattern that puts the lead character in a world totally outlandish to the world he or she is customary. Commonly a vehicle for comedy, it can also be used in other genres including drama, romance, action and science fiction. This is the list of Comedies about Fathers and Father Figures Parenting Children from late 80s to present.

10. Daddy Day Care (1999)

10. Daddy Day Care (1999)
*** Wonderful, Funny, Cute Family Film ***

"Daddy Day Care" is an Eddie Murphy movie about a man and his friend who are fired from their cereal-making jobs after making a putrid cereal. So, they decide to open up a daycare to support their families. The daycare steadily grows, so this worries their competition, Miss Harridan. So, she calls the childcare officer twice, and both times they slide out. But, the third time he tells them that they need to get a bigger building.

Daddy Day Care, is a very funny and hilarious movie. It is a movie suitable for people of all ages. Yeah it does take about 5 minutes to get going, but that is all. Many people walk into a movie and expect it to be funny the first second that the movie gets started. It tops it all off when men watch the kids. I saw it on opening night and I enjoyed. So please spend some money and see the movie. I guarantee you, you will love this movie, if you love movies.

9. Jersey Girl (2004)

9. Jersey Girl (2004)
*** Not Perfect, But Entertaining Drama ***

"Jersey Girl" was a pleasant surprise, and one of Kevin Smith's best efforts. There is still far too much vulgarity for my liking, but this is a vast improvement as far I'm concerned. I liked the background story of Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's characters. It really sets the tone for the movie well, and gave us a valuable lesson. Don't work yourself too hard, because you'll miss out on the important things in life.

Affleck's character is the comically archetypal Big Shot at the beginning who makes the progression to the equally archetypal Good Guy by the end. It's been done a thousand times. That doesn't exclude it from being good, but it doesn't help it either. Jersey Girl is a sentimental ball of easy jokes and played out storylines. It's fairly enjoyable to watch, but don't waste your money if you can help it.

8. Cheaper by the Dozen (2003)

8. Cheaper by the Dozen (2003)
*** A Nice Film For The Whole Family To Enjoy ***

Have you ever needed a movie where you just need to take a breath and relax? Well, Cheaper by the Dozen is your answer. It is packed with comedy that will blow the family away and the best thing about it is it's rated 'G'. So it's great for a family party. The movie is great and everyone acted well. The worst actor would have to be 'Bonnie Hunt' she played the mom, and didn't do really well as her. The best actor would have had to be 'Steve Martin' and 'Hilary Duff' as they put a great effort into the movie.

Everything that can happen does happen and for a while their lives have been going downhill. But, love pulls this family together and the wrongs are righted. So, even though it's not the best family film, it's worth watching with your family for a good laugh and a good time. It's sweet, funny and never fails to make me think about family.

7. The Pacifier (2005)

7. The Pacifier (2005)
*** Doesn't Quite Get There But Still Fun ***

The Pacifier is one of those cookie-cutter star vehicle endeavors that could've been made while the whole cast and crew were asleep. The acting is either over-the-top  or zombie-style with very little in between. A supporting character from the kids' school was just plain puzzling in his behavior. There are so many improbabilities and irregularities in the story that all we can do is examine the work as a whole and when we do, in spite of all the problems, we can't help but smile a little. The kids are cute and Diesel, in spite of himself, seems to have an endearing quality that emerges as the film progresses.

Vin Diesel is very good in this movie. Lauren Graham is also good as the school principal and love interest for Diesel. I am not a Gilmore Girl watcher but I think Graham is very appealing in this movie alone and I would like to see more of her. Sure the story doesn't bear much scrutiny, but this movie is just plain fun to watch.

6. The Game Plan (2007)

6. The Game Plan (2007)
*** Funny, Touching And Pretty Good Film ***

Dwayne Johnson plays Joe Kingman, an unbelievably rich football player who has everything a rich football player could want: Money, expensive furniture, and even a bulldog named Spike. If you were him, you would be living in heaven. But then you would be living in Hell if you found out that you had a daughter who just happened to show up on your doorstep. Talk about scary. Just like any other movie about a man who finds out that he has a daughter, their relationship doesn't always go according to plan. But as the movie continues, the relationship spreads and soon they all live happily ever after.

I recommend this movie because is entertaining and have a nice feeling about it so if you want to be a away from those bad crimes, horror and action movie this is the perfect escape.

Oh For God's Sake! 10 Upcoming Spoof Films You Should Avoid

Who doesn't enjoy a good spoof or parody film. They're a good way of reminding you of something by making it funny or completely ruin it. But lately producers have been using spoofs as a cheap way to make some quick cash without trying too hard.

With the recent release of "A Haunted House" and "Scary Movie 5"– a parody of found-footage films like "Paranormal Activity" series and "The Devil Inside" – we're counting down some of the upcoming films the parody sub-genre has to offer. Although it has become harder and harder to find solid examples of parody talents like Mel Brooks (The Naked Gun series), David Zucker, and Jim Abrahams, we still think that the whole spoof movie concept can work when done right.

However, it's just as easy to deliver a parody that feels lazy and lacks any sort of comedic or satirical punch - just look at films like "Disaster Movie", "Epic Movie", and "Date Movie".

So we thought of producing a list of upcoming spoof films that will be released any time soon. Be aware of what you choose to watch, Don't tell me that I didn't warn you.

Graboid Video

10. 2012-ish: The Day The Earth Bent Over (TBA)

From Robert Moniot, director of the 2001 short Pearl Harbor II: Pearlmageddon comes a new spoof movie that looks to take on the apocalypse genre. Now I know what you're thinking; 'didn't we just see the release of Disaster Movie which was essentially the very same thing?

Here's the film's synopsis:

"A brilliant young scientist named Tom Mahoney fights to save the planet from a multitude of catastrophes that threaten mankind - in spite of the idiots that keep getting in his way: A bumbling President, a manic-depressive NASA shuttle commander, and a sexy reporter who can't keep her clothes on."

9. Dirty Step Stomp (TBA)

The Weinstein Company has picked up Dirty Step Stomp, Steve Basilone & Annie Mebane's spoof, setting it up with Benderspink. The movie will spoof such recent films as Stomp the Yard, Step Up and Save the Last Dance as well as the 1980s classics Footloose and Dirty Dancing. Chris Bender, Mason Novick and JC Spink will serve as producers.

8. Love at Second Bite (TBA)

"Love At Second Bite", a parody film produced by Morning Light Productions and a sequel to 1979's "Love At First Bite". It stars George Hamilton and David Steinberg as screenwriter (WTH). The storyline: "Twenty five years later, Dracula's Americanized son rejects his family's heritage and gets married to a human. Trouble begins when he learns that his vampire relatives are coming to America for the wedding."

7. Not Another Celebrity Movie (TBA)

"Not Another Celebrity" Movie adds a unique twist to the spoof genre as the talented cast portrays the big cinematic icons there are: the celebrities themselves. Packed with a star-studded crew of celebrity look-alikes, this parody of Oceans 11 follows the misguided antics of Charlie Sheen as he tries to meet with Justin Bieber, whom he believes is his illegitimate son. When his attempts to reconnect are thwarted, Sheen engages the services of Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Robert DeNiro, Tom Cruise and seven other celebrities implement a plot to kidnap the pop sensation at an upcoming concert at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The resulting antics are, in a word, Winning!

6. Sci-fi Movie (TBA)

David Zucker projects can’t possibly be as bad as the Friedberg/Seltzer ones. And yet, for a guy who was once a part of that legendary Zucker/Zucker/Abrahams team that brought us "Airplane", "Top Secret" and "The Naked Gun", he is definitely not doing himself any favors here. I just hate how generic these movies are getting… the original joke of calling the first one Scary Movie is now lost.

It’s only a matter of time before someone comes out with Spoof Movie. Plus I think they’re running out of genres to parody. According to Box Office Mojo, Sci-Fi Movie is currently slated for release on February 20th. I don’t think I’ll be marking that on my calendar.

5. The $40,000 Man (TBA)

"Bad Santa" director Terry Zwigoff has been handed the plans to "The $40,000 Man", as New Line has just hired him to direct the comedy spoof.

The company nabbed the spec script from John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein earlier in the year, which finds a true American astronaut hero who – in true Steve Austin style – is injured in a terrible accident and needs some serious bionic rebuilding. Sadly for him, the government’s coffers are seriously depleted, and the bargain bin bionics he’s fitted with aren’t exactly super-powered.

4. The Biggest Movie of All Time 3D (TBA)

Writers/directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer are set to bring a spoof of Avatar to the big screen, called The Biggest Movie of All Time 3D.

The duo who brought us Scary Movie, spoofing the teen horror genre, Date Movie, looking at the cliched romantic comedies, Epic Movie spoofing blockbusters, and Vampires Suck, making fun of the cultural phenomenon Twilight.

Now, it's time to bring another funny look at the biggest movie of all time, Avatar.  The duo has appropriately titled the new film The Biggest Movie of All Time 3D.

3. The Starving Games 2013 (TBA)

The team who brought you “Date Movie” and “Meet the Spartans” has decided to lampoon the biggest show in town with “The Starving Games.” Apparently the movie will also mock recent broad targets such as “Sherlock Holmes” and “Harry Potter,” to minimal comic effect. The movie will make millions of dollars based on name-recognition alone, granting the filmmakers the financial freedom to keep making insipid parodies until they die. There goes the twenty-first century.

2. They Came Together (TBA)

Wait, what?! We already know that Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd are leading a romantic comedy parody called They Came Together from Role Models and Wet Hot American Summer director David Wain from a script he co-wrote with fellow comedian and The Baxter director Michael Showalter.

The story follows Joel (Rudd) and Molly (Poehler) who meet and have nothing but contempt for each other as Joel's big corporation is the one that threatens to shut down Molly's quirky knick-knack store. But we're not sure where these first look photos of the romantic duo dressed up as Benjamin Franklin come into play. Look!

1.  A Haunted House 2 (MAR 28TH, 2014)

"A Haunted House 2" will be financed and produced by IM Global’s genre label Octane.

The other film scheduled for this same date is Darren Aronofsky's Noah.

In the first film, when newlyweds Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) and Kisha (Essence Atkins) move into their dream house, they quickly find they’re not alone. But it’s not the house that’s haunted, but his wife that is possessed with spirits – or as Malcolm calls it – “relationship baggage.” Malcolm hires everyone from a priest to modern day ghost busters to rid her of the demon, determined not to let the evil spirit ruin his marriage... Or his sex life for that matter.

Ten Highly Enjoyable New Year's Eve Related Movies

New Year Eve's Movies
Christmas movies are so common that its value is little or nothing nowadays, but movies that revolves around New Year's Eve are slightly less frequent. We’re just few days away from ringing in a new year, so what are you going to do to celebrate? If you're staying home on New Year's Eve, here are some astonishing movies that have some scenes about New Year's Eve. I’ve put together a list for you, with the 10 best and entertaining New Year’s Eve movies ever made. Pop some popcorn, enjoy the champagne, curl up together, and enjoy these movies that feature celebrations of all things ending and aging.

1. The Gold Rush (1925)

***One Of The Best Silent Classic Starring Chaplin***

"In 1998, the American Film Institute chose “The Gold Rush” as one of the 100 greatest films ever made. Chaplin referred to the film as “the picture that I want to be remembered by.

"The Gold Rush," perhaps more than any other Chaplin film, best captures that elusive moments, sad quality about the little tramp that penetrate so many of his films.

"The Gold Rush" set in the year 1898, during the gold rush of the time, Chaplin portrays as a silly-witty prospector, one of the many who have bravely come up to face the harsh climate conditions of Alaska, in search for pure gold. After struggling through a blizzard, he comes across a cabin. From there, much lies ahead for him. He experiences being abandon in the cabin with a fellow prospector named Big Jim McKay, and also falls in love with a woman he meets in Alaska named Georgia, and attempts to win her heart.

I strongly recommend Chaplin films to anyone who is quite interested in early cinema but is turned off by the idea of silent pictures. He's so expressive and so fun to watch that I promise you you will forget that you're watching a silent film.

2. Sunset Boulevard (1950)

***A Fascinating,Unusual And The Dark Side Of Hollywood***

"Joe Gillis: You're Norma Desmond. You used to be in silent pictures. You used to be big.

Norma Desmond: I am big. It's the pictures that got small."

"Sunset Boulevard" right up there with "All About Eve" as one of the best written and best performed films of the 1950's.

Gloria Swanson plays Norma Desmond who is a lonely insecure once famous silent film actress living in isolation with her servant in a lavish, but neglected Hollywood mansion from the 1920's. William Holden plays the role of Joe Gillis, a down on his luck B film Hollywood writer who accidentally discovers her mansion. she watches her past films in her own theater. She dreams of making a comeback, writing a ridiculous script, and hoping to send it to Cecil B. DeMille and make him direct it.

The plot was also suspenseful when you have two people like Swanson and Holden working together on opposite sides. The idea of having a "Norma Desmond" in "Sunset Boulevard" gave it more mystery and made it more interesting. Everybody should watch this movie at least once in their lifetime.

3. When Harry Met Sally... (1989)

***A Delightful And Beautiful Romantic Comedy Film***

"Harry Burns: I have been doing a lot of thinking, and the thing is, I love you.

Sally Albright: What?

Harry Burns: I love you.

Sally Albright: How do you expect me to respond to this?

Harry Burns: How about, you love me too.

Sally Albright: How about, I'm leaving."

Harry Burns (Billy Crystal) meets Sally Albright (Meg Ryan) in 1977 when they need someone to share a drive with to New York after graduating college in Chicago. The film shows how, after a couple of bad starts, they begin and develop a friendship, which stays constant throughout their turbulent romantic lives. However, the film raises the question, 'Can men and women ever be just friends?'.

Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan have this unbelievable chemistry on-screen together that is so apparent in this film. It truly works with the witty dialogue about the crucial observations of relationships and the differences of gender.

This film can bring tears to those who watch it every time. It is film like this that give hope to people that one day, they will find that one person who challenges them, and loves them for exactly who they are. "When Harry Met Sally" is the perfect film to watch for people of all ages. Highly recommended.

4. Sleepless in Seattle (1993)

***A Film Filled With Hope, Love, Pain And Fun***

"Annie Reed: Destiny is something we've invented because we can't stand the fact that everything that happens is accidental."

"Sleepless in Seattle" a charming tale of fate and soul mates. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks are perfect as Sam and Annie who are made for each other. The story is simple, remade from Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr's 1957 classic "An Affair to Remember" and it's impossible to describe how good this movie makes you feel even if you've seen it countless times like I have!.

This movie is one of Nora Ephron's best. Tom Hanks couldn't be more charming and the story, though very simple, is about as sweet as they get. I won't give away the ending, but the nature of fate and location collide in a way that you won't forget.

5. Trading Places (1983)

***A Thoroughly Enjoyable And Well Crafted Comedy***

"Billy Ray: Merry New Year!

Beeks: That's 'happy.' In this country we say 'Happy New Year.'

Billy Ray: Oh, ho, ho, thank you for correcting my English which stinks!"

"Trading Places" is a movie that deals with Louis Winthorpe III( Dan Aykroyd ) who is a successful New York commodity broker with a mansion in Philadelphia and Billy Ray Valentine( Eddie Murphy ) who is a hustling beggar, but they traded places. Jamie Lee Curtis is good in it playing Ophelia, Paul Gleason is also good in it as an F.B.I. Agent, and Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche are good, too as those two brothers who are rich.

Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd in their prime. Both are funny, neither are silly and useless, and both portray the best of character's fit for a movie. Both will keep you laughing until you cry.

It's engaging and entertaining with a strong story, amusing material, good performances and good all round delivery. Not a classic as some would suggest but certainly a very enjoyable comedy.

6. The Hudsucker Proxy (1994)

***A Witty, Well Performed And Coen Bothers Perfect Comedy***

"Amy Archer: Norville Barnes, you don't know a thing about that woman. You don't know who she really is. Only a numbskull thinks he knows things about things he knows nothing about."

"The Hudsucker Proxy" story of this film is simple. Norville Barnes (Tim Robbins) who is a college graduate gets a job in the mail room of the hugely successful Hudsucker Industries. On his first day on the job the chairman of the Hudsucker industries commits suicide. Board of Directors led by Sidney J. Mussberger (Paul Newman) decides to lower the companies stock by hiring an idiot in his place, then taking advantage of lowered stock price. Barnes is that innocent idiot.

Only the Coen Brothers could take a tired holiday format and inject into it a measure of surrealism and a large amount of humor. People who found this too arty or the comedy too black really missed the point - it is in fact a traditional family holiday movie.

7. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)

***Highly Original And Definitely Has It's Moments***

"Bridget: It is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces."

Renee Zellweger plays the titular Bridget, a 32 year old single woman in London who is sick of her lonely lifestyle and boring job at a publishing company. Not long after starting to keep a diary, she begins a passionate affair with her serial-cad sex-god boss Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) but things don't go quite as well as she planned. But is she destined to end up with Daniel or nice-but-dull Mark Darcy (Colin Firth)?

Renee Zellweger fits the bill perfectly for the part of Bridget Jones and she didn't do badly with the British accent. Hugh Grant plays a different character to what we're used to when in romantic comedies, but it is definitely a good thing.

8. About a Boy (2002)

***A Charming, Brilliant Story And Modern Morality Tale***

"Fiona: Will, am I a bad mother?

Will: No. No, you're not a bad mother. You're just a barking lunatic."

"About A Boy" is actually quite simple story: we have Will, a guy who has never done anything at all significant in his life and has thus never really grown up, and he meets Marcus, a poor 12-year-old who has grown up to quickly without really realizing it, is bullied at school, he's killed a duck with a loaf of bread and his mother has just attempted to kill herself. Bizarrely the two end up reluctant friends, and manage to give each other a healthy dose of some much needed thoughtful ideas

The acting is delightful. Grant gives the performance of his lifetime. Toni Collette is fabulous. And Hoult is also good. All in all this movie is charming and funny. I would recommend it to anyone with a heart and sense of humor.

9. Strange Days (1995)

***A Violent, Disturbing And Sizzling Sci-Fi Action Thriller Film***

"Talk radio host: Now, just so the, the rest of us know how much time is left, when is the rapture supposed to hit exactly? Is it midnight New Year's Eve?

Lori: That's right.

Talk radio host: Aha. Is that midnight L.A. time or, or Eastern Standard Time, or what? I mean, what timezone is God in anyway?"

"Strange Days" set in a futuristic world, the black market virtual reality is all the rage. Ex-Cop Lenny Nero (Ralph Fiennes) is the guy you go to for all your virtual dreams. He can get you anything from the ultimate vacation to porno and everything in between. Nero's world is soon to be turned upside when on the New Year's Eve of the millennium, he receives a video tape which contains the murder of someone he knows.

Many people don't know this, but "Strange Days" was actually written by the Director, James Cameron, shortly before he did Titanic.

The lead actor Ralph Fiennes is fantastic and is just bad enough to not be considered a hero, however the bad performances of the other actors by comparison, the happy ever after ending and hits violent nature lets this film only just escape from being a masterpiece.

10. 200 Cigarettes (1999)

***A Hardcore And Rocking New Year Party Time***

"Lucy: You need to find somebody that likes you the way you are.

Kevin: And who would possibly like me the way I am?

Lucy: I have no idea."

"200 Cigarettes" is described as an episodic film. It revolves around a number of people on New Years Eve of 1981 and climaxes at one big rock party. These people seem to miss each other, yet also go through their own problems to try and understand themselves and their part in life. Some of them realize the truth about themselves, while others of them simply continue to go on as they were.

Courtney Love and Christina Ricci the standouts, while Kate Hudson shows real promise as a comic actor. It is true that although there was a lot of talent in this film, most of the acting was mediocre. This seems to defy explanation. Somehow though, I forgave all of them since I so thoroughly enjoyed myself.

"Eat Drink Man Woman" tells the story of a father, Chu, who is a celebrated chef, and his three daughters Jen, Chen and Ning. All three daughters are in their twenties and they still live with their father. Even though each are adults and have their own job, Chu feels responsible for them. They in turn feel responsible for their father and this feeling of obligation stands as a barrier between in their career path and romantic relationships.

This is a movie with something for everyone because it touches on so many levels. It's insightful, confident, deep, touching, and most importantly it's easy to watch and follow. A graceful movie that explores complex themes.

3. Chocolat (2000)

***Beautiful, Tasty And Mouth-melting Magic***

"Vianne Rocher: I have two announcements. Number one, if you enjoyed what you ate here, you're going to love my chocolate festival on Sunday.

Armande Voizin: Advertise on your own time. What's for dessert?

Vianne Rocher: That brings me to number two. It is my duty to announce, that there is no dessert here tonight.

Vianne Rocher: Because it's on Roux's boat.

Armande Voizin: Any complaints, see me."

"Chocolat" story begins in a small and beautiful French village, led by the Comte De Reynaud (Alfred Molina), is a place of contained misery. A group of people who keep their emotions and feelings bottled up and reject all satisfaction in favor religious purity, things need to change. So when the mysterious Vianne Rocher (Juliette Binoche) and her daughter Anouk (Victoire Thivisol) turn up and create the ultimate temptation in the form of life changing chocolate, the Comte is less than overjoyed.

Juliette Binoche is ravishing to look at and conveys the Mary Poppins-type quirkiness that carries the film. Alfred Molina is the reactionary, super-religious mayor of the town who tries to pressure Binoche into leaving, but his portrayal is sympathetic enough that he doesn't destroy the fable-like quality of the film. Johnny Depp is a charming river rat, and you also have two fantastic pros in Judi Dench and Leslie Caron.

A great film for family, dates, or just to be entertained but without the over the top explosions.

4. Like Water for Chocolate (1992)

***An Enjoyable, Intense And Cookbook Turned Fairy-Tale***

"Nacha: You will be so beautiful that the first boy who sees you will want to marry you.

Mama Elena: Nacha! Don't say that. As my youngest daughter, Tita will care for me until the day I die. She won't marry."

"Like Water for Chocolate" was directed by Alfonso Arau in 1992 that is based on the novel written by Laura Esquivel. Like Water for Chocolate is very interesting and different. The main character is a young girl named Tita and the movie tells the entire store of her life. The movie begins with her birth and ends with her death. Most of the magical elements come about through Tita's cooking. Tita loves to cook! Her life is very sheltered because her mother, Dona Elena, is very strict; therefore cooking is the way in which Tita displays her true emotions.

The cinematography is gorgeous, giving an enjoyable view of the Mexican countryside. And the presentation of the food is stunning, making your mouth water.

I recommend Like Water for Chocolate to anyone who feels like he/she is lacking color and passion in life - if watched with an open mind and heart, this beautiful and enigmatic film will stir your senses and imagination.

5. Julie & Julia (2009)

***A Wonderful Drama About Joyful French Cooking***

"Paul Child: Your book is going to change the world."

"Paul Child To Julia: You are the butter to my bread, you are the breath to my life."

The legendary figure of Julia Child, an icon who pioneered techniques she had learned during her years of living in France, was an idol for Julie Powell.

"Julie & Julia" story is about two different women in different times, Julie Powell and Julia Child having the same ambition and obsession towards cooking, showing Julie as a huge fan of Julia as she tries to make 524 of Julia's recipe in a year and how she never gives up on it, similar to her mentor Julia who also never gave up on her desire to cook and learn food and publishing a cookbook of her own, both of them having help from their husbands, and how they are similar in so many ways.

There's no doubt that Meryl Streep had the most demanding part in the movie, playing a woman who is, to many, an icon. Although I haven't been exposed much to Julia Child, Streep seemed to nail the part pretty well and was quite convincing.

6. Big Night (1996)

***An Italian Cinematic Poetry About Food And Cooking***

"Pascal: A guy works all day, he don't want to look at his plate and ask, "What the fuck is this?" He wants to look at his plate, see a steak, and say "I like steak!".

"Primo: To eat good food is to be close to God."

"Big Night" is a hearty, satisfying tale of two Italian brothers coming to America to make it big. Primo and Secondo have two very dissimilar ideals about food and business. The dichotomy that exists between the two brothers provides for both tension and humor and fuels this delightful tale.

The focal point of the film is the chemistry between the characters of Stanley Tucci, portraying a hard-working, pleading, frustrated restaurant owner, whose head carries only logic and a goal for success, and Tony Shalhoub, his brother, whose aggressive passion is for the food he cooks and the mystery and subtext within it, yet his interaction with people is painfully shy.

This is a commentary on principles, sacrifice, desire, ethics and the interplay of these themes with a hearty helping of wit. If you like good stories told in a unique manner, check out this film.

7. Mostly Martha (2001)

***A Heartfelt, Funny And Emotional German Cooking Film***

"In Martha's enchanted kitchen, more than the food is starting to simmer. With some special ingredients they just might discover a recipe for passion."

A German film about a top female chef who knows everything about and in terms of – including social interactions, even when communicating with her therapist – it's always food, and nothing else! It's about the life ‘adventures' around her, and when the subject of her 8-year old niece turns up and encounters with an Italian chef happens…she gradually learned to let food not be front and centered , letting herself be open to other things, other persons to come into her 'defensive' space.

Mostly Martha, it is another in the series of films that are food-centric, it is mostly an in-depth look at Martha. The acting is excellent, and writer/director Sandra Nettelbeck has done a wonderful job of letting the actors just act. No sterile scenes or make-ups, very realistic. Spontaneous, emotion-laden; the little girl is very cute. I can definitely recommend it.

8. No Reservations (2007)

***A Lovely Romantic Comedy Family Drama***

"Kate: I wish there was a cookbook for life, you know? Recipes telling us exactly what to do. I know, I know, you're gonna say "How else will you learn, Kate."

Therapist: mm. No, actually I wasn't going to say that. You want to guess again?

Kate: No, no, go ahead.

Therapist: Well what I was going to say was, you know better than anyone, it's the recipes that you create yourself that are the best.

"No Reservations" is delightfully sweet, with a nice romance supported by the magnificent chemistry of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart; a good story; a wonderful soundtrack; and the visual of splendorous dishes.

"No Reservations" starts out with Kate, a short tempered chef running her own kitchen. Whenever a customer complains about the smallest thing Kate drags them out of the restaurant. When her sister and niece come to visit, they fall into a deadly car accident and her sister dies. After trying to recuperate after the death of her sister and the raising of her niece she returns to work a week later. Only to discover a new chef working there without her consent. Then things really heat up in the kitchen!

Do not have any reservations about marking the calendar to see this film. It is a feast of fun and feel-good moments.

9. Simply Irresistible (1999)

***A Delicious Romantic Comedy Film For Everyone***

"Jonathan Bendel: I like you, Lois. You're like a man. You think with your nuts."

"Simply Irresistible" revolves around two restaurants; one is the tiny family owned Southern Cross and the other is the uptown glamorous soon-to-be opened Jonathan's. Geller plays Amanda Shelton, the cook at the Southern Cross. Since her mother's death, the restaurant has been on the verge on bankruptcy, mostly because Amanda is a lousy cook. Jonathan's has recruited the best cook around and is perched atop New York's finest department store. Jonathan's is the brain-child of Tom Bartlett (Flanery) and he is determined to make it the most successful restaurant in the city.

Sarah Michelle Gellar did great in the movie as the struggling chief and Sean Patrick Flannery who plays the guy who just cant figure out whats going on.

"Simply Irresistible" works wonderfully as a fantasy. It convinces us that magic is possible if only we have the courage to let it happen. So give this movie a chance. It will inspire you if you let it.

10. Today's Special (2009)

***An Excellent Film About Indian Food***

"Akbar: They don't know what they want. They only know what they've had!"

"Today's Special" is filled with humor, which made the family conflicts, bearable and at times downright funny. The cultural baggage of the Ind-Pak participants was both credible and  not exaggerated.

Samir is forced to help out at the family's failing, run-down Indian restaurant -- much to his dismay, because he doesn't know how to cook Indian food. In the process of learning to run the family restaurant and to cook Indian, Samir learns to loosen up and live a little, which begins to show in his cooking.

I would recommend this culinary delight to everyone and couldn't imagine anyone not liking it, but then again there are always those with permanent indigestion. fun and smart movie.
