1. Zero Dark Thirty (2013)

Columbia Pictures "Zero Dark Thirty" is one of the most anticipated American action thriller film based on the story of history's greatest manhunt for the world's most dangerous man and the film chronicles American efforts to capture or kill Osama bin Laden. The film is directed and co-produced by Kathryn Bigelow and written by Mark Boal, both worked together in "The Hurt Locker", it won six Oscars, including Best Director for Bigelow, the first woman to win this award. It also won Best Picture. Boal won for Best Original Screenplay.

Kathryn Bigelow's ex-husband 'James Cameron' was previously in negotiations to direct the film, but dropped out due to pre-production work of the sequel of Avatar. "Zero Dark Thirty" is the frontrunner at the upcoming Academy Awards.

It is a crime drama film directed by Martin Scorsese and written by Terence Winter. The film is based on the memoir of the same name by Jordan Belfort. "The Wolf of Wall Street" will make a fifth collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio. 

The first Martin Scorsese film to be shot with anamorphic lenses since his "Bringing Out the Dead (1999). The story about a New York stockbroker, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio, who unwilling to cooperate in a large securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street, the corporate banking world and mob infiltration.




3. Pain & Gain (2013)

Based on a true story, Paramount Pictures's "Pain & Gain" follows a group of bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida. The film is written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and directed by Michael Bay. The film has some big names like Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Anthony Mackie, Tony Shalhoub, Rebel Wilson and Ken Jeong. This is Michael Bay's lowest budgeted film since his feature film debut, the 1995 action-comedy "Bad Boys".




4. Snitch (2013)

Dwayne Johnson stars as a father whose teenage son is wrongly accused of a drug trafficking crime and is looking at a compulsory minimum prison sentence of 10 years. Desperate and determined to rescue his son at all costs, he makes a deal with the U.S. Attorney to work as an undercover informant and infiltrate a drug cartel on a dangerous mission - risking everything, including his family and his own life. The initial trailer seems like a serious action drama.




5. Twelve Years a Slave (2013)

New Regency Productions's "Twelve Years a Slave" is an upcoming drama film directed and written by Steve McQueen and co-written by John Ridley. It is based on the memoir of the same name by Solomon Northup. It stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt and Paul Dano. The story follows a man living in New York during the mid-1800s is kidnapped and sold into slavery in the deep south. This film marks the reuniting of Dwight Henry and Quvenzhané Wallis, both from Louisiana, who were acclaimed for their first-ever acting roles when they co-starred in "Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012)". It is based on the Phillips's memoir "A Captain’s Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy Seals, and Dangerous Days at Sea" - recounts his three days as their captive and his dramatic rescue. "Captain Phillips" look like steady genre fare along the lines of Paul Greengrass's "Green Zone (2010), which was also based on real events.

The film is based on "Judy Bachrach's Vanity Fair" article and follows a 16 year old boy named Mark who meets Rachel on the Internet and begins an intense online relationship.
