After teasing fans by saying that there was only one thing he could reveal about follow-up, he brought Henry Lennox out to read something pertaining to the movie. "I want you to remember Clark in all the years to come. In all your private moments. In all the years to come, my hand on your throat. I want you to remember, the one man who beat you." That's right, it's a quote from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns! Snyder would then go on to confirm Superman/Batman, adding the classic story that will inform the movie. Below is the press release in full.

"BURBANK, CA, July 20, 2013On the heels of the worldwide success of “Man of Steel,” director Zack Snyder is bringing together the two greatest Super Heroes of all time—Batman and Superman—for the first time on the big screen. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

The current hit, “Man of Steel,” has taken in more than $630 million at the worldwide box office to date, and climbing. Along with its star, Henry Cavill, the upcoming film brings back Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. The new Batman has yet to be cast.

Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who will then pen the screenplay. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with an anticipated release date in Summer 2015.

Silverman stated, “Zack Snyder is an incredibly talented filmmaker, but beyond that, he’s a fan first and he utterly gets this genre. We could not think of anyone better suited to the task of bringing these iconic Super Heroes to the screen in his own way.” Kroll added, “We are thrilled to be back in business with Zack and his team on this next movie. The success of ‘Man of Steel’ is a wonderful testament to the love and support that both fans and new audiences, worldwide, have for these characters. We are very excited to see what Zack has in store for all of us.

Man Of Steel: To Cross $100 Million In US & 100 Crore In Indian Box Office

North America Domestic Box Office Prediction:

As anticipation builds for the Warner Bros.’ big-budget and much needed Superman reboot 'Man of Steel (2013)' film release just a week away, based on special screening reviews and comments around the web: Man of Steel is nothing short of epic.

It seems that huge marketing frenzy unleashed by Warner Bros. all around the world is paying off. According to Forbes news, "projected ticket sales in North America suggest an opening weekend haul of more $100 million, and planned attendance survey predicts that by the middle of next week we’ll all be talking about a figure closer to the $120 million range (depending on how much repeat business it gets from fans over the weekend)."
Man Of Steel: Superman Looking At The Sun

Indian Domestic Box Office Prediction:

According to BoxOfficeMojo, the only foreign film that has crossed 100 Crores in Indian box office is James Cameron's 'Avatar (2009)' and other films like "The Avengers (2012)", "The Dark Knight Rises (2012)", "Life Of Pi (2012)" and the most recent "Iron Man 3 (2013)" were able to do very good business (around 50 Crores and above) at the box office.

With huge fan following of DC comics' Superman and Christopher Nolan who had a very good run (includes 'The Dark Knight (2008)', Inception (2010)' and The Dark Knight Rises (2012)' ) at the Indian Box Office in recent years.  Christopher Nolan's name is a major brand audiences trust and flock to. When you add in another name of 'The Dark Knight trilogy' — David Goyer’s — then the potential for big success becomes even greater.

Zack Snyder, who also directed the superhero film Watchmen, said he wanted to find a poignancy to add to the familiar story. "I wanted the movie to be a big movie-going experience, full of action, full of emotion and full of the biggest super hero in the world," Snyder said Tuesday before giving the Las Vegas movie theater convention CinemaCon a brief glimpse. "I wanted to give to the cinemas of the world a big, giant 'movie' movie."

The music of Superman Man of Steel is composed by Hans Zimmer and the music of this movie has label of Water Tower Music. The tracks of this film have been released on 11-June-2013. 10 Upcoming DC Comics Movies To Expect In The Near Future

When Zack Synder's much awaited film "Man of Steel" hits theaters on June 14, it'll not just mark the arrival of a new Superman - it will also create a foundation for the near future slate of films based on DC Comics.

Jeff Robinov, president of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, confirmed that Christopher Nolan will NOT produce a "Justice League" movie, however he said this summer’s Man of Steel is “setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward.

Recent development at Warner Bros. have suggested that a Justice League movie would follow "Man of Steel", and then characters such as "Shazam", "Wonder Woman" and "The Flash" may get solo movies afterwards. "Gangster Squad" writer Will Beall was hired to write the latest draft of the script, but apparently his screenplay was scrapped leading to speculation Christopher Nolan was taking over to guide the ship. That obviously isn’t happening, so fans will be curious to see what the studio has planned for their upcoming DC slate.

We’ll find out sooner or later, but the thing that seems unambiguous is this: "Man of Steel" will kick down the door for other DC heroes.

10. Dark Universe (TBA)

"An epic adventure uniting all the supernatural beings from DC Comics"

DC Comics' "Dark Universe" will combine all of their supernatural characters in one adventure. That‘s right. All of them. That means Swamp Thing, The Spectre, Deadman, Zatanna, Zatara, Sargon, Phantom Stranger, Constantine Hellblazer, and Etrigan the Demo teamed-up in one film!

After impressing Warner Bros. With test screening results for "Pacific Rim," director Guillermo Del Toro has been given free reign by the studio to choose a project of his liking. Lucky for us, he’s considering "Dark Universe." With imaginative superhero fare like the two Hellboy films under his belt, Del Toro has proven that he’s qualified to do DC’s magical beings justice.

9. Green Latern 2 (TBA)

"DC’s greenest intergalactic hero to return for a second movie."

"Green Lantern 2" continues the adventures of DC Comic’s intergalactic cop Green Lantern, alias cocky fighter pilot Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds).

With a production cost of around $ 200 million and a worldwide gross of $ 220 million Green Lantern was far from a box office bonanza. It also received scathing reviews. Still, a sequel is on the way and, according Warner Bros’ president Jeffrey Robinov, it will be ‘edgier and darker’ than its predecessor.

8. Aquaman (TBA)

"DC Comics’ undersea superhero bobs up onto the big screen!"

"Aquaman" is an upcoming adaptation of the DC-Comics’ classic undersea superhero. Alan Ritchson, the actor who plays Arthur Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman in Smallville, recently did an interview with Comic Book Resources where he stated that he thought an Aquaman movie would start swimming soon – but that he hasn’t been approached to play the title role.

7. Wonder Woman (TBA)

"Wonder Woman, the Princess of Power has her big screen debut!"

"Wonder Woman", One of DC Comics’s most famous creations is bound to get a film version of her own: Wonder Woman, aka the beautiful and fierce Amazon princess Diana of Themyscira, who comes to the ‘Man’s World’ to fight evil.

Originally created by William Moulton Marston, she first appeared in All Star Comics #8 in 1941. From 1975 — 1979 the Wonder Woman TV series ran, starring Lynda Carter. Previous attempts to turn the comic superheroine into a film star have failed.

6. Lobo (TBA)

"DC’s intergalactic bounty hunter gets his own movie!"

"Lobo" is the last of the alien race of the ‘Czarnians’. He is equipped with enormous strength and a rather peculiar sense of morality (in the comics he brags about having killed the rest of his entire race for a high school science project!).

A teenage girl teams up with a towering intergalactic bounty hunter to stop a gang of fugitives.

Dwayne Johnson was eying the lead role but apparently is no longer part of the project.

5. The Flash (TBA)

"The fastest man on the planet returns to the big screen!"

While working in his lab during a storm one night, a bolt of lightning strikes a tray of chemicals soaking forensic scientist Barry Allen with its contents. Now able to move at super-speed, Barry becomes The Flash, protecting the Central City from the threats it faces.

4. Shazam (2015)

"Captain Marvel, of DC’s most revered superheroes, to get his own movie."

Every time a young Billy Batson says the word ‘Shazam,’ he is transformed into the adult superhero Captain Marvel, the world’s mightiest mortal. This power was bestowed to him by the wizard Shazam.

The long gestating project is based on the Captain Marvel comics, published first by Fawcett Comics and then later, famously, by DC Comics.

3. Batman Reboot (2017)

"After having risen with Christopher Nolan, The Caped Crusader gets rebooted!"

Warner Bros. plans to reboot the Batman franchise with a fresh director and an all new cast. It was rumored that Christopher Nolan, who directed the series, was involved in this project in some capacity. The filmmaker has since denied this.

Bruce Wayne/ Batman of this new reboot will eventually be incorporated into the upcoming Justice League movie, along with Superman out of "Man of Steel" and other DC Comic superheroes.

2. Man Of Steel 2 (TBA)

"A sequel to the Zack Snyder reboot of the Superman series"

A sequel to Zack Snyder’s (300, Watchmen) 2014 Superman reboot Man of Steel.

1. Justice League (2015)

"Superman and Batman unite for first time in DC’s answer to The Avengers!"

"Superman", "Batman", "Wonder Woman", "Aquaman", "The Flash" and other DC superheroes combine forces as one super collective to fight against evil. In their first live-action film, the Justice League will be facing off against none other than the mammoth immortal Darkseid, a war-mongering god and merciless tyrant.

Will Beall (Gangster Squad) is working on the script for the long-gestating project. Although Ben Affleck was reportedly in talks to helm the superhero blockbuster, he has confirmed that he will not be directing the project. Warner Bros. is now rumored to be weighing up the possibility of Brett Ratner or sibling duo Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski to direct.

The rumors are flying that Joseph Gordon-Levitt may sign on to play the new adult Batman (graduating from his sidekick role in Chris Nolan’s Dark Knight finale).
