Watch Unused Animatics Clips From The Avengers

Just a moment ago, we saw a set of animatics clips from "Iron Man 3," Federico D'Alessandro, has uploaded animatics he created for Joss Whedon's monstrous hit, The Avengers. Two of them feature unused intros for Iron Man, while another has a different version of Loki and Tony Stark's battle of wits. Hit the jump to watch..

Watch Unused Animatics Clips From The Avengers

Early in The Avengers, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and his group go about recruiting the superhero team. After Fury has enlisted Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) help in order to recover the Tesseract from Loki, the film cuts to our first look at Tony Stark/Iron Man. He is underwater attaching a new arc reactor to Stark Tower's power line. But, Federico D'Alessandro's first animatic below, shows a much different intro for Iron Man. In the early version Iron Man would've fought never-used supervillain with Man with no arms and no legs. At the end of each nub, is some sort of attachment device. As the clip plays out you will see the amputee attach robotic hands and legs, thus making him a supervillain

In this second clip, Iron Man makes his introduction earlier in the film, just after Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has escaped with the cube, and his mind-controlled lackeys, Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Professor Selvig (Stellan SkarsgĂ„rd). In this version, Iron Man appears at S.H.I.E.L.D.'s secret underground government research facility. He is in hot pursuit of Loki, as the underground lab is crumbling all around him. Loki is seen trying to escape via a subway car. Watch the video below to see what happens.

The third animatic, involves Loki and Tony Stark's battle of wits at Stark Tower. But in this early version, the conversation is quite different, as Tony plays possum. He pretends to be under Loki's mind-altering influence, and pushes the charade too far. You can't fool the God of Mischief!

The last animatic, shows the scene in which the gateway is opened to the outer space location where the Chitauri’s army awaits. There a few slight differences than the theatrical version. With the most significant change, as pointed out by CBM's Guardian Angel, our first look an unused female superhero, Wasp (Janet van Dyne). She can see her at the 17-second mark.

Kevin Feige Says Marvel Studios Has Movies Planned Up to 2021

Sure, Warner Bros. Is finally taking adequate steps towards the full-fledge "Justice League" movie along with the recently announced and much-talked "Superman vs. Batman" movie, but the DC comics and studio is still way behind what Marvel has done with their cinematic universe. Yes, Marvel Studios is planning for the long haul. How long? Have plans in place for movies all the way up to 2021

Kevin Feige Says Marvel Studios Has Movies Planned Up to 2021

In an interview with the magazine, Marvel head Kevin Feige reveals that the studio have an idea of their slate of movie projects all the way up to 2021. “I could arguably say what we’re planning for the year 2021,” Feige tells the site. “Will that happen? I don’t know. But what we planned for 2015 in 2006 is happening.

"Five years ago, looking at our plan, we knew that if Avengers was going to work, the movies had to stand alone," Feige said. "Now we have to prove to the studio that we're more than just these five characters, these five franchises."

What sort of things does the studio have planned? Well, Feige doesn’t outright say anything, but seeing as we’re getting a Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 and  Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015, Marvel Studios will have completed Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They are immediately launching Phase 3 with the long-gestating Ant-Man movie the same year as the Avengers sequel, so if they continue their current pacing, they’ll be in Phase 4 by 2021. What will the MCU look like then?

Marvel Superheros poster

Three release dates have already been announced for unspecified movies -- two in 2016 and one in 2017 -- and now we can expect even more in the upcoming years. Characters such as Doctor Strange and Black Panther are rumored to have movies in development.

Aside from sequels for already established franchises like Iron Man and Captain America, what other characters and teams would you like to see join the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Luke Cage, the Inhumans, or Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel, anyone?

The Wolverine Fails To Credit Chris Claremont And Frank Miller

"The Wolverine" creators fails to credit the most important pair Chris Claremont and Frank Miller whose 1982 title formed the basis for the 20th Century Fox film's script - are not mentioned in the credits.

The Wolverine Fails To Credit Chris Claremont And Frank Miller

"Chris Claremont and I went to Times Square and watched The Wolverine, which was based on the miniseries he did with Frank Miller," wrote Marvel Comics: The Untold Story writer Sean Howe on his Facebook page.

"Unfortunately, he didn't get a credit, not even a 'special thanks' in the film. Nor, as far as I could tell, did any comics writer or artist, including Len Wein and John Romita, who created the character."

Mark Waid, who recently spoke about the policy of crediting creators for their movie contributions. He didn't receive any acknowledgment in "Man of Steel," which was inspired from his limited series Superman: Birthright.

Claremont was mainly positive about The Wolverine in a recent interview with Vulture. The creators were not credited in The Wolverine promotional material but the cast and crew frequently mentioned them in the run-up to the movie.

Marvel Released New Clips For Space Epic 'Guardians of the Galaxy'

Considering Marvel's huge space opera only started filming 2 weeks ago, they had an amazing amount of footage to show us. We see a desolate alien world, where Peter Quill, aka Starlord, is going inside an ancient temple. He uses a light globe to illuminate the interior, and then goes to steal an old alien orb.

guardian-of-the-galaxy-concept-logo-art

Guardians is about a ragtag group of alien thieves and killers who have to come together as a family to protect the universe. It stars a group of actors who aren’t exactly A-list. Chris Pratt (best known for his work on Parks & Recreation) stars along with Zoe Saldana, MMA star Dave Bautista, and Michael Rooker from The Walking Dead. Benicio Del Toro and John C. Reilly are probably the best known cast members.

Thrown in an intergalactic booking station, Star-Lord winds up alongside the other criminals who will become the Guardians of the Galaxy: Zoe Saldana's very green Gamora, Dave Bautista's green with some reddish highlights Drax, the tree-man Groot, and the little spitfire Rocket Raccoon. The practical make-up on Gamora and Drax also nails the look of the comics, and we even got a glimpse of Star-Lord in his famed helmet at one point.

Rhomann Dey (John C. Reilly) narrates the whole thing with intense snark, especially when he gets to the part about how Peter Quill calls himself Starlord. Listening to this, Quill cranks up his middle finger as if he's working a creaky machine. Later, Quill is in prison and Drax is listening to his personal stereo, which is playing a bouncy "gamba gamba" tune. Quill is offended — and then he gets teased.

A Brand New Subtitle For Marvel's Avengers 2 "Avengers: Age of Ultron"

The Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con ended with writer-director Joss Whedon taking the stage at Hall H to announce the official title of Marvel's The Avengers 2, which is ... "Avengers: Age of Ultron" Below is a brief footage description and as you can see, Ultron himself was revealed. What this means for Thanos is unclear, but it could be that the studio will introduce him in Guardians of the Galaxy and then have him face off against Earth's Mightiest Heroes in The Avengers 3. Needless to say, this raises some VERY interesting questions; will Hank Pym - Ultron's creator - be introduced in this movie ahead of Ant-Man for example?

A Brand New Subtitle For Avengers 2 "Avengers: Age of Ultron"

It begins outside an alien temple. A man approaches. The Avengers footage is super quick, featuring lines from the first Avengers. Slowly, CGI images form of Ultron's face. Then the title comes up. THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.

You may know that "Age of Ultron" is a relatively recent Marvel Comics storyline so it'll be interesting to see how much they cull from that for the big screen sequel to the 2012 blockbuster. Here is the official title treatment courtesy of Marvel and Disney:

How Much Do You Know About 'The Wolverine' From X-Men Films?

The X-Men franchise will be returning to theaters for at least the next two consecutive years with sequels to both spin-offs of the original live-action trilogy. The sequel to "X-Men: First Class" ("X-Men: Days of Future Past" hits theaters on July 18th, 2014.) is being filmed and the sequel to the not-so-awesome "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (The Wolverine) is going to hit theatres on July 26th, 2013.

How Much Do You Know About 'The Wolverine' From X-Men Films?

But in all the razzle dazzle of the silver screen, will we actually find out who Wolverine is? I doubt it. It’s been nearly 40 years since he debuted looking like a goof fighting the Incredible Hulk, and parts of his story are still shrouded in mystery to this day. Certainly no two hour movie can get the job done. But take a look back at how far we’ve come in those 40 years, take a look at the evolution of The Wolverine costume to boot! Enjoy both, below.

It is intended to be the tenth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even though filming on Guardians of the Galaxy is set to begin soon, the casting is still somewhat of a jumble. An impressive array of talent considering the franchise itself is one of Marvel’s lesser known to the general public. So, let's get details about 10 superheroes and cast of Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord: The Guardians leader, Peter Quill has been established as a half-human, half-Spartoi. Quill was raised on Earth by his mother, until he witnessed her death at the hand of two aliens attempting to erase the “Spartoi bloodline”.

Zoe Saldana as GamoraZoe Saldana as Gamora: Gamora’s equally close ties to Thanos have led to her reputation as the most dangerous woman in the galaxy. A green skinned humanoid is the last of a species that was exterminated by a race known as the Badoon. She also happens to be a skilled assassin.

Benicio Del Toro as The Collector: The Collector also had the power of prophecy, allowing him to foresee the rise of a being powerful enough to pose a threat to the Elders: Thanos. To protect life in the universe, the Collector created a massive museum of countless life forms to keep them safe from Thanos. For a time, he even possessed one of the six Infinity Gems, unaware of its true power, until Thanos took it.

Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer: Drax the Destroyer began as Arthur Douglas, an innocent man with his family driving through the desert, when Thanos attacks them, killing Arthur. The Titans Mentor and Kronos capture Douglas’ wandering spirit and provide it with the powerful new body for the purpose of killing Thanos, granting him the new identity of Drax the Destroyer.

Michael Rooker as Yondu: Yondu Udonta is a member of the Zatoan tribe, primitive beings native to Centauri IV. He functions as a hunter. His homeworld was the first planet to be colonized by humans that was outside Earth's solar system. Yondu is born in the late thirtieth century. Yondu's people had fled from contact with overwhelming earth colonizers who had begun arriving in 2940 A.D.

John C. Reilly as Rhomman Dey: Rhomann Dey was the leader of the Nova Corps of Xandar and one of its few survivors. When the Warlord Zorr attacked Xandar, he devastated it and killed many Xandarians including Dey's wife and child. Dey hunted Zorr and battled him.

Possible The Amazing Spider-Man Trilogy - 10 Things To Perk Up The Franchise

"The Amazing Spider-Man 3" is the third installment in The Amazing Spider-Man trilogy after "The Amazing Spider-Man 2". It will be the most important film of the series so far. Since Marvel has officially confirmed that Andrew Garfield will star as Spidey in a trilogy, it is just a matter of time when we will get to see it‘s hopefully awesome conclusion.

With "The Amazing Spider-Man" performed considerably well — and better than a supposedly worried Sony had expected — we’re bound to hear news of a sequel (The Amazing Spider-Man 2 And 3) in the coming years. We already know the plans for a trilogy, but where that trilogy will actually go remains something of a mystery. The dull Peter Parker’s parent subplot/question will likely be answered, sure, but why not move away from this topic? Better yet, why not take a crack at all these suggestions below that I just know every exec at Sony is feverishly scribbling down? They may need to.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN MOVIE TRILOGY

Till now, we've seen plenty of Jamie Foxx as Electro in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", but nothing of Paul Giamatti as The Rhino. Today we have our first look at Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich / The Rhino...sort of. It's actually a stunt double wearing a mask he stole from the set of DRIVE, or so it evokes. The mask is obviously made to represent Giamatti and his appearance certainly suggests the thuggish, Russian brute that is Sytsevich in the comics. In the below video, the folks at sevenwebheads give a CSI level breakdown of the set photos that's pretty convincing.

10. The action, from the incomprehensible subway fight to that face-slapper of a cartoon finale, was lackluster. Either Marc Webb needs to learn from this failure, or a capable second-unit team needs to be hired, or a well trained action director has to be brought in who can maintain Webb’s dramatic voice, but actually give us the prime summer spectacle.

9. Spider-Man doesn’t affect Peter Parker’s life all too much in the movie. In fact, all that comes from it is pretty great. Would a weird, awkward kid — who takes photos of girls from a distance, mind you — get a girl like Gwen Stacy without having super powers? Doubtful. If anything, Gwen was more into him because of his powers.

EMMA STONE GARFIELD ON SET ROMANCE IN THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

8. Even for pure storytelling reasons, having Parker face off against a villain he does not know would raise the stakes. They have no connection or a previous relationship Peter could rely on to hopefully change their mind or appeal to their kinder, friendlier nature. Embrace having pure evil. The Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus were fantastic, but this iconic part of the Spider-Man comics has already grown tired in film form. How many people in Peter’s address book can turn evil?

7. The idea of an unknown villain makes for a smoother narrative, having the freedom not to deal with a buildup of a character taking a turn for the worst. Sometimes simple, broad villainous strokes are a good thing. They tried to add shades of grey to Doctor Connors, but it only muddled up the character and the film.

Also, for the love of God, give your villain a better plan than “Let’s turn the city into lizards!

6. This suggestion obviously contradicts the vulnerability complaint, but, seriously, why kill off your lucky charm so early? While Peter Parker keeps walking around moaning about his good looks and super powers, we need someone unafraid and willing to crack a smile in this world, and not much can touch the charm of an Emma Stone smile.

5. With the running time clocking in at two hours and seventeen minutes, The Amazing Spider-Man could have used a serious edit, either in the writing or editing booth. Apparently I’m not the only one who thinks that, as a major element was cut out: the answer to that untold story regarding Peter’s parents. What was left open to answer in the “trilogy” should just be exercised all together.

4. Whenever the film began to slow down, it usually involved Peter pining over this question. Do we really want to see our hero keep living in the past for three films? By the end of the movie Peter’s coming-of-age is well-rounded and he’s found a calling, but that post-credits sequence slaps that arc in the face with a head-scratching sequel flag. How powerful would it have been if Peter proclaimed he knows who he is by the end without having an answer for his parents’ disappearance?

RIHNO IN THE AMAZING SPIDER MAN VILLAIN

3. The previous mentioned subplot is a part of the film’s biggest problem: a meandering structure. With screenwriters Steve Kloves, James Vanderbilt, and Alvin Sargent involved, it was jarring to see The Amazing Spider-Man frequently wander from scene to scene, sometimes without any momentum to speak of. Taking your time with drama and the origin story is admirable, but not giving it a proper flow is not.

2. Stacy is in love with Peter from scene one, and perhaps the biggest question mark in the film remains: Why would she love this guy? He’s a mopey and awkward kid who, again, takes pictures of her without her knowing. It’s a purely tweeny, unserious live without much conflict. There is no drama between the two of them, it’s all gooey and dreamlike.

When drama is introduced by Captain Stacy asking Peter to stay away from her, two minutes later Peter, in a rather dick move, says, “To the hell with that dead, smarter, wiser old guy I made a promise to!” and gets back to his teenage romance.

1. There was far too much going on in The Amazing Spider-Man, which made for some fairly weak plotting: Spider-Man’s half-baked origin (who honestly got chills when he said “I’m Spider-Man”?), Doctor Connor’s uneven arc and ensuingly moronic plan, and — possibly the most botched part of the movie — that search for Uncle Ben’s killer.

Peter simply gives up his revenge quest without any rhyme or reason. There was no “I don’t need revenge” or an “I’ll avenge Ben through fighting evil!” realization. Much of the film, like its hero and its villain, has too many missing pieces. Next time around, know that simply ain’t such a bad thing.
