The Inbetweeners Sequel Confirmed With August 2014 Release Date

The boys are back as a sequel to "The Inbetweeners" pic is officially confirmed, in production and is scheduled to be in UK cinemas sometime in early August 2014. The Inbetweeners Movie, which came out in 2011, went on to become the UK's most successful comedy of all time. And don't worry all the major players will be back, so that's Jay, Neil, Simon, and Will. The Inbetweeners Movie grossed more than £41 million at the UK box office in summer 2011, outperforming summer blockbusters such as Cowboys & Aliens and Prince of Persia.

"We couldn't be more excited to be making another Inbetweeners movie with Simon, Joe, James and Blake," Morris and Beesley said in a joint statement.

"Frankly it's pathetic how much we've all missed each other. A new chapter in the lives of the Inbetweeners feels like the very least we can do to thank the fans for their phenomenal response to the first movie."

The film will shoot later this year with the central quartet Will (Simon Bird), Jay (James Buckley), Neil (Blake Harrison) and Simon (Joe Thomas) reuniting for a new big-screen adventure.

Film4 and Channel 4 will co-finance and produce the movie through Bwark Productions.
