Marvel's 10 Most Anticipated Action Adventure Movies 2013 - 2015

The future looks very, very bright for fans of Marvel’s rapidly growing cinematic universe. So, will these 2013 and 2014 movies simply be sequels to what we already know? Is Edgar Wright’s latest Ant-Man script finally going to be pushed into production? Is Marvel preparing to finally introduce some other characters like "Black Panther" in solo films?

With the upcoming release of "Iron Man 3 (2013)", "Thor: The Dark World (2013)","Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) Two years might be pushing it for The Avengers 2 so it’s more likely that will be a 2015 release, depending on the success of its predecessor at the box office next summer. Let's list out 10 most anticipated marvel's movies in the coming years.

The full Marvel ‘Phase 2’ release schedule is as follows: Iron Man 3 hits theaters on May 3rd, 2013, Thor: The Dark World on November 8th, 2013, Captain America: The Winter Soldier on April 4th, 2014, Guardians of the Galaxy on August 1st, 2014, and The Avengers 2 on May 1st, 2015.

10. Ant-Man (2015)

Release Date:  6 November 2015.

Director:Edgar Wright.

Screenplay & Writers: Joe Cornish, Jack Kirby.

Edgar Wright plans to direct an action film for Marvel Studios with some humorous elements, insisting that Ant-Man will not be a spoof. The script has been written by Wright and Joe Cornish, who plan to include Henry Pym and Scott Lang as major characters, with Pym as Ant-Man in the 1960s in Tales to Astonish style, and a flash-forward to Lang as Ant-Man's successor in modern day. The film will take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On October 15, 2012, Marvel and Disney announced that Edgar Wright's Ant-Man would hit theaters on November 6, 2015, after the release of The Avengers 2. In January 2013, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Ant-Man will start "Phase Three" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

9. The Fantastic Four (2015)

Release Date: 6 March 2015.

Screenplay & Writers: Seth Grahame-Smith, Jack Kirby.

In July 2012 Josh Trank, who had been in talks since early in the year, was announced as director of the reboot. Millar announced that Matthew Vaughn will produce the reboot. Seth Grahame-Smith will polish the film's script and Sources say that the new reboot is taking a grounded superhero and sci-fi approach to the heroes and will tap deep into the comics mythology, which featured not just the better-known villains such as Doctor Doom and Galactus but also alien races the Kree and the Skrull, and the anti-matter universe known as the Negative Zone. 

The upcoming film will be produced by Fox and will share continuity with the X-Men series, though still separate from the official Marvel Cinematic Universe produced by Marvel Studios. The film will be released on March 6, 2015.

8. Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)

Release Date: 5 August 2014.

The Guardians of the Galaxy, a team of superhuman and extraterrestrial adventurers dedicated to the safeguarding of the Milky Way Galaxy from any force that threatens the security or liberty of its various people.

A live-action, 3D film Guardians of the Galaxy, based on the comic book and team, are scheduled to be released on August 1, 2014. It will be directed by James Gunn, based on a screenplay written by Nicole Perlman, Chris McCoy, and Gunn. The film was formally announced by its production studio, Marvel Studios, at the July 2012 San Diego Comic-Con International with concept art portraying (from left to right) Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, and Gamora. In February 2013 Chris Pratt was cast as Star-Lord. Filming will begin in June 2013, at Shepperton Studios in the UK.

7. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is an upcoming action adventure superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, directed by Marc Webb and released by Columbia Pictures. It is a sequel to the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man. The studio announced the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man in 2011. The company hired James Vanderbilt to write the screenplay and Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to re-write it. Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Shailene Woodley, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Chris Cooper, Sally Field, and Felicity Jones are set to star. The film is scheduled to be released on May 2, 2014 in 2D and 3D.

6. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is an upcoming Marvel's superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Captain America, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is intended to be the sequel to 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger and the ninth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anthony and Joe Russo are set to direct the film, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, which stars Chris Evans, Emily VanCamp, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Scarlett Johansson, Frank Grillo, Cobie Smulders, Toby Jones and Samuel L. Jackson. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is scheduled to be released on April 4, 2014 in 2D and 3D.

5. X-Men: Days Of Future Past (2014)

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" is an upcoming action superhero film co-written, produced and directed by Bryan Singer and featuring the X-Men characters appearing in Marvel Comics. It is based on the 1981 popular comics storyline "Days of Future Past" by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. It is the third X-Men film to be directed by Singer after X-Men and X2, and is produced and co-written by Vaughn, who directed and co-wrote X-Men: First Class, a prequel to the original trilogy.

Days of Future Past include cast members from both: Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore and Ellen Page return from the original trilogy, while James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult return from X-Men: First Class. Hugh Jackman, the only actor to have appeared in each of the previous X-Men films, will reprise his role as Wolverine.

4. Thor: The Dark World (2013)

Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings.

"Thor: The Dark World" is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Disney Studio. It's an upcoming sequel to 2011's "Thor" featuring Marvel Comic character. With Iron man 3, Thor: The Dark World and Captain America sequel releasing in the near future, we could expect "The Avengers" sequel by the end of 2014.


Development of Thor: The Dark World began in April 2011, after producer Kevin Feige announced plans for a sequel following the crossover film The Avengers. On July 2011, Kenneth Branagh, the director of Thor, withdrew from the project. Brian Kirk and Patty Jenkins were considered to direct the film before Taylor was hired in January 2012.

The supporting cast was filled out in August 2012, with the hiring of Eccleston, Dennings and Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Principal photography began in September 2012 in Surrey, England with filming continuing in Iceland and London, wrapping up in December 2012. 3. The Wolverine (2013)

"The Wolverine" is an upcoming superhero film featuring a Marvel comic book character Wolverine and it's the sixth film in the X- Men film franchise, directed by James Mangold. Hugh Jackman returns as Logan "The Wolverine". Including his cameo in X-Men: First Class, this will be Jackman's sixth portrayal of Logan/Wolverine, breaking his own record. The initial promos, pictures and behind the scene videos looks stunning. 2. Iron Man 3 (2013)

Ben Kingsley as Villain "The Mandarin". Robert Jr. has done some stunning action movies in the past decade or so. Marvel's The Avengers 2 is a much awaited action superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the highly anticipated sequel to 2012's Marvel's The Avengers and the twelfth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Joss Whedon will be returning to direct a screenplay by Jon Favreau and himself with Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evens, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Damion Poitier and Samuel L. Jackson all reprising their roles from the first film.
