"The Hunger Games" Wes Bentley Joins Nolan's "Interstellar"

"The Hunger Games" actor's casting fills the final vacant slot in the "Interstellar" film's lineup, which already includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, John Lithgow and Topher Grace. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games, Lovelace) is negotiating for what's being called the final empty spot in the line-up of the Christopher Nolan-directed sci-fi epic.

Wes Bentley, who played Seneca in "The Hunger Games," has quietly become one of the busiest actors in film. He appeared in eight films in 2012, including the mystery thriller "Gone." He also co-stars in the upcoming "Lovelace," which premiered at Sundance.

Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. are teaming on the big-budget tentpole that will be produced by Nolan, Emma Thomas and Lynda Obst. Jordan Goldberg is exec producing.

With a script written by Jonathan Nolan (and later rewritten by Chris to merge his own original idea), Interstellar follows a heroic group of explorers who travel through a wormhole and into another dimension. The ideas are based on the work of physicist Kip Thorne, who's also an executive producer. With filming expected to begin later this year, the movie is slated for a November 7th, 2014 theatrical release and will be shot in IMAX.
