Ten Chilling Creepy Christmas Holiday Slasher Films

With Christmas coming up, Watch some seriously funny and scary Christmas horror movies. These movies are really over the top, creepy and hilarious. I am sure you will have lot of fun watching these movies. Have A Merry Kill-Mas!.

1. Black Christmas (1974)

***A Frightening Holiday Slasher Classic***

"If this movie doesn't make your skin crawl... It's On Too Tight!"

"Have Yourself a Scary Little, Black Christmas. It's Not at All Like the Ones You Used to Know."

"Black Christmas" plot is simple, A group of young college girls decide to stick around they're sorority house for the Christmas holidays, not knowing a mysterious psychopath is hiding in they're attic, making obscene, disturbing phone calls, and that's just the beginning, he eventually proceeds to slaughter the kills one by one in a brutal fashion.

This film was made so well in so many aspects such as the music, the premise and the photography it still scares me to this day. In fact this is the only old school slasher film which I would have no hesitation in putting on to scare the living daylights out of someone in today's modern age.

I seriously urge you to watch this film if you haven't done so already as this film is guaranteed to scare the crap out of you; and what ever you do "don't go up the stairs!"

2. The Day of the Beast (1995)

***Best Spoof Horror Comedy Film Ever***

"A Devilishly Dark Comedy"

"The Day of the Beast", A Catholic priest and theologian, Father Cura, believes that he has found through numerical values in the bible, the exact date of the birth of the anti-Christ. Believing the only way to stop this happening, is to become evil himself by doing evil deeds, he sets off on a pilgrimage around Madrid looking for a sign that will direct him in the right direction. He teams up with a Death Metal shop assistant and a TV host of a phoney paranormal show to make his meeting with Satan come about.

The movie first and foremost is riddled with dark humor, all the while, we will be treated to several scenes so well crafted that they will have you on the edge of the seat either gripping your nerves or scaring you to hell. Acting , plot , pacing , characters, the heavy-metal soundtrack... Everything is perfect.

To sum it up, this movie is an entertainment production, it's funny, and rough for any Horror fan. It's a black comedy that should please any fanatic of Horror.

3. Dead End (2003)

***Surprisingly Engaging And Mix Of Horror And Comedy***

"Laura Harrington: Was there no dial tone?

Frank Harrington: No, Laura. I just forgot the number to 9-1-1!"

"Laura Harrington: Should we save some pie for Michael?

Frank Harrington: He's dead.

Laura Harrington: Okay."

"Dead End" plot; family travelling to Mother-In-Laws place for Christmas dinner, father takes a shortcut...which happens to be the biggest mistake he will ever make. However, the ending provides an excellent twist which turns everything upside-down and makes you think twice about what you just saw.

It's less about a high-body count or bucket loads of gore, than just plain old mind-freaking you into a state of unshakable creepiness, which it succeeds in doing very well.

If you're looking for Jason, Freddy, Micheal, don't bother seeing this movie because you will be bored. If you want suspense and a serious mind phuck movie, this is for you.

4. The Children (2008)

***Tension Packed Old Fashioned Horror Film***

"Robbie: We don't hit kids here, Jonah!"

The children appear to catch some sort of viral infection. The parents don't really take it very seriously at first. But as each child succumbs, they turn into mini serial killers. The surviving adults have a hard time defending themselves as they slowly realize there is only one way to deal with the children.

A relaxing Christmas vacation turns into a terrifying fight for survival as the children begin to turn on their parents. The exotic location of the house and the woods adds creepiness to the already chilling atmosphere. The acting is not that good as you expect but the script is quite solid to carry the whole movie on its shoulders. Wholesome entertainment is guaranteed. Do you want to watch and yes, only after your children are off to bed.

5. Last Stop on the Night Train (1975)

***Interesting, Disturbing And Powerful Horror Flick***

"The windows look out onto hell...a view that will take your breath away...permanently!"

"Most movies last less than two hours! This is one of everlasting torment!"

Two girls are heading home for the holidays on a train in Europe when they are accosted by two creepy guys and an equally creepy woman who begin tormenting the two young travelers. The taunting starts off pretty tame but quickly escalates.

Aldo Lado's Night Train Murders, an Italian clone of Wes Craven's infamous horror Last House on the Left (1972), is a repugnant and sleazy little shocker which, although it doesn't offer much in the way of gore, is still fairly effective thanks to its non-explicit, but still very disturbing, scenes of sexual violence.

6. P2 (2007)

***A Decent Psychological Christmas Thriller***

"The only thing more terrifying than being alone is discovering that you're not."

"She Did What He Never Expected. She Fought Back."

"P2", Workaholic Angela (Rachel Nichols) leaves her office late on Christmas Eve with the intention of spending the holidays with her family. However, psycho security guard Thomas (Wes Bentley) has other ideas: he wants the pretty woman to spend the festive season with him and will do anything to get his way.

It's set on Christmas Eve and takes place almost entirely in the underground parking garage. 95% of this movie is entirely centered around only two characters and it works. If you get a chance to watch this, I'd recommend taking the chance. It's not too bloody. I found the ending to be ever so satisfying. Give P2 a chance.

7. Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)

***A Effective Christmas Ho-Ho-Horror Film***

"You've made it through Halloween, now try and survive Christmas."

"Shocking... disturbing... The movie they tried to ban."

"Silent Night, Deadly Night" plot is based upon a little boy who witnesses his parents being murdered on Christmas Eve by a robber dressed as Santa Clause. After being placed in a Catholic orphanage, and being treated with the usual incompetent state and private rehabilitative causes, this boy grows up to be a young man unable to control his drive to murder on Christmas.

Compared to many other horror films the story is actually quite good, and what happens is really quite believable. It could also be why this movie is so effective. The kills are pretty sweet from a horror perspective and the effects are decent. The ending is a little anti-climactic and it does setup it up for a bunch of inferior sequels. If you can find it, its definitely worth a viewing. PUNISH!

8. Two Front Teeth (2006)

***Not Perfect, Not Popular But Watchable***

"Sometimes... Christmas Bites."

" Uh, yeah, in this movie, Santa is a Vampire. Nice touch?"

"Two Front Teeth", Starring Johnny Francis Wolf as Gabe Snow, a neurotic tabloid writer with a hatred/fear of Christmas, is investigating the truth behind a terrible plane crash of flight 1225. Along with his emotionally abusive wife, Gabe sets out to uncover the mystery of this evil vampire Santa.

It's not for everyone, it's a low-budget labor of love with no recognizable names in it - but if you like horror movies, horror-comedy, and if you have an appreciation of Christmas and movies made for love, it's worth checking out.

9. Santa's Slay (2005)

***A Good Christmas Horror Comedy Film***

"Spreading holiday fear this Christmas."

"He's making a list... pray you're not on it."

"Santa's Slay", is a horror/comedy where Santa Claus is Satan's son and he kill's innocent people. Now it's up to two teenagers to stop him. This movie is funny. It's mean-spirited, to be sure, but it's also completely over-the-top, and has a number of laugh aloud scenes and one-liners. Although it's not as funny or complete as "Christmas Vacation," it's still a good pick for those who are sick and tired of the saccharine-drenched Christmas movies.

10. Saint (2010)

***Just Another Horror Comedy Film***

"Go And See It On 5th December Every Year."

The Dutch version of Santa Claus has gone bad, and every fifth of December with a full moon he returns to go on a killer spree. But this time he faces inspector Goert, who has seen him murder his whole family before - and Frank whose friends have been murdered earlier that night leaving him the suspect.

The story is superficial, a lot of background information is missing, but the speed and the easiness of the movies is compensating these flaws. Overall the movie is fun to watch. There is not a happy end in the movie... well not happy for the kids. The good thing is there might be a sequel.
