THR reports that, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told analysts on Friday that the success of one of the summer's few movies that isn't a sequel and isn't based on an existing property already has the company talking about a sequel with plans to start production as early as 2014.

Feltheimer predicted Louis Leterrier's caper-thriller will reach the $275 million mark in worldwide box office grosses. "The film will gross nearly $25 million at the box office and will generate a profit more than three times greater than had we sold it for a minimum guarantee," Feltheimer said.

There's no further details about screenwriters, director (Louis Letterier might return to direct) or the original ensemble cast might return, but if you happened to have seen the movie then you know that there are definitely some interesting ideas that they could explore in a sequel.

Stay tuned for more info on the project as Lionsgate and Summit move forward with it.
