Samuel L. Jackson Set To Play Villain In Matthew Vaughn "The Secret Service"

Variety reports that Samuel L. Jackson is set to play the villain in an upcoming Mark Millar comic adaptation of "The Secret Service."  The film will be directed by Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class). Vaughn and Jane Goldman have written the adaptation of the Mark Millar and David Gibbons graphic novel. Marv Films will finance and produce the film. Production is expected to start this fall. And with Colin Firth and Taron Egerton already set, the helmer has now found the person who will be causing all the trouble in the movie.

In The Secret Service, Colin Firth plays “the world’s greatest secret agent” who is training his nephew (Egerton) in the spy business.  Variety claims that  Vaughn always wanted a big name to play the villain - Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio got a call—before landing on Jackson.  Emma Watson and Bella Heathcote are in contention for the female lead.  Vaughn and writing partner Jane Goldman adapted Millar and Dave Gibbons‘ graphic novel.
