New Clip "He's Awake" From Neill Blomkamp's "Elysium" Plus New Images

A new clip "He's Awake" has arrived for Neill Blomkamp's "Elysium", providing another peek at the grimy futureworld Earth has become. Elysium stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Wagner Moura, Alice Braga, and William Fitchner. It opens in theaters on August 9th, 2013.

A role played by Jodie Foster, though initially, the part was written for a man. But, Blomkamp had the good sense to realize the gender didn't matter to the part, and producer Simon Kinberg thought of putting Foster in the part.  “I thought, ‘That would be fucking awesome, but there’s just no way,” Blomkamp told EW. “But then, within,  like, a day I had a meeting with her and she said, ‘I want to play it.’ I was like, ‘Holy shit!’” Needless to say, he was excited.

Official Synopsis:

"In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live in an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes, a hard line government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds."
