Interstellar: Christopher Nolan Casts 'Homeland' Actor, Plus On Set Image

Christopher Nolan brings on Homeland Star Timothee Chalamet to his mysterious Interstellar cast. Chalamet is an upcoming actor best known for playing the Vice President's son, Finn Walden, on Showtime's Emmy-winning series "Homeland." He has had a recurring role on the USA series "Royal Pains," and also played Mira Sorvino's son in Craig Gillespie's recent pilot "Trooper." He's repped by WME and attorney Lev Ginsburg.

Director Christopher Nolan continues to intrigue fans as he assembles an ensemble for his latest science fiction epic, this one originally penned by brother Jonathan Nolan, Interstellar.

Jonah Nolan wrote the original script, which has since been merged with one of his brother's original sci-fi ideas. Chalamet will be joining a cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine. The brain worm-teasing premise pertains to a group of explorers who must travel to the furthest reaches of the universe through wormholes. The concept was inspired from ideas purported by theoretical physicist Kip Thorne in his book, Wormholes, Time Machines and the Weak Energy Condition.

The crew is beginning to move around Alberta, Canada scouting locations (streets and small towns) with Chris Nolan. The team is getting everything ready for an August shoot.
