An Extended Trailer For Hayao Miyazaki's 'The Wind Rises'
Look at the new Studio Ghibli movie "The Wind Rises," directed by animation legend Hayao Miyazaki. Based on the novel by Tatsuo Hori and the manga by Miyazaki, the film is inspired by the life of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who designed the Zero fighter plane that was used during World War II, and infamously during the Pearl Harbor attack. Uh, bring the kids? It certainly seems a bit more dramatic that the more fantastical work folks associate with the director, so we'll be curious to see what the final shape of this one is like. It's the first Miyazaki himself directed since Ponyo in 2008.
