I know it's too early to list out 2014 fantasy films as we are still waiting for this year's most anticipated fantasy adventure film "The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug". But it's never too early for the films that we should look forward to the coming years. The fantasy adventure genre has always been well received by fans all over the world. So I wanted to make a list of the most anticipated and upcoming fantasy adventure films in 2014 and 2015. This might not be accurate list, with time new films will be added. So please feel free to suggest.

"Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 2" comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton. The film is directed by Tommy Wirkola. After heaving the worldwide gross of Hansel and Gretel north of the $200 million mark (on the comparatively slim budget of $50 million), thereby guaranteeing a Hansel & Gretel sequel. Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton) will return to doing what they do best: hunting evil witches in the dark woods of Germany.

"Beauty And The Beast" is an upcoming fairy tale fantasy film directed by "Silent Hill" and "Brotherhood of the Wolf" director Christophe Gans, starring Vincent Cassel and Léa Seydoux. The fairy tale was most famously brought to screens in 1946 with French filmmaker Jean Cocteau’s fantasy masterpiece La Belle et la Bête (Beauty and the Beast) and, of course, later in Disney’s 1991 animated classic. French favorite Gérard Depardieu is also set to co-star.



8. The Last Witch Hunter (2014)




"The Last Witch Hunter" is directed by Breack Eisner and starring Vin Diesel. The story follows an immortal witch hunter (Vin Diesel), who teams up with his sworn enemy, a witch, to stop the coverns of New York City to unleash a deadly plague on humanity. The screenplay for The Last Witch Hunter was written by Priest-scribe Cory Goodman. It landed on the 2010 Black List of the best unproduced screenplays.

"World Of Warcraft" is a movie version of the popular role-playing game World of Warcraft, by Blizzard Entertainment has been in development for years. Sam Raimi was initially attached as a director, but had to drop out because of his involvement in "Oz The Great and Powerful". Charles Leavitt (the writer behind upcoming fantasy flick Seventh Son) is reportedly now on board to wrangle the script into shape. The film will be directed by Duncan Jones.



6. Into The Woods (2015)




"Into the Woods" is an upcoming fairy tale adventure film based eponymous 1987 stage musical by the legendary Stephen Sondheim (Sweeney Todd) and James Lapine. The film will be directed by Rob Marshall, starring Emily Blunt, James Corden, Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep and Daniel Huttlestone. Several famous fairy tales weaved into one: Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel all make an appearance in the story of a baker and his wife who try to reverse a curse on their family in order to have a child. Hollywood legend Meryl Streep plays the coveted role of the witch, while Johnny Depp plays the big bad wolf of the musical!
